Review: Dermalogica BioLumin-C Serum

Beauty, Review

Hi team!

This week I am reviewing the Dermalogica BioLumin-C Serum. Mouthful huh?

I got sent this from Dermalogica, and it contained a week worth of serum to try. I have just finished it and I can really see a difference! So here is a bit about the product.

The serum is the latest product from Dermalogica, and it is a serum containing Vitamin C which is a natural skin brightener (so eat and drink more Vitamin C!) along with salvia hispanica oil (from chia seeds), lactid acid which promotes cell turn over, and sophora japonica, which is a flower extract, which helps with oxidative stress. Dermalogica say that when put against their competitors, it performed three times better.

It’s main purpose is to brighten, firm, and defend, so that is what I put to the test.

I applied this product both day and night, and often didn’t wear makeup (I am not customer facing a lot) so I could really see how it worked on my skin. My skin doesn’t overly have many issues, but it does get dry in places, and I don’t currently have a serum in my skincare routine which apparently is a big no no especially if you have dry skin. Serum is applied after toner and before moisturiser to lock in moisture to the skin.

So over the week, I started noticing that my skin definitely was brighter. I have oily skin, but due to having a Dermapen treatment (more on this in another blog) this has been combated so I could really see how the serum worked. It sunk into my skin well, and was very lightweight. It wasn’t greasy or anything, and it actually gave off a orange smell, but a quite natural one, not overpowering at all.

The firming part is coming along, I think if I used it for more than a week I would see more firmness, and the defence part of the serum will show itself after using the product for awhile also, as it’s more of a long term game.

Overall, I really like this product. It goes for £81.50 but if you calculate that as two uses each day over 10 weeks, the bottle will cost you just over a pound a day. It’s not too bad considering!

What serums do you use? Did you try this product? What did you think?

T xx
